BDK BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU
“YOU WILL NEVER INFLUENCE THE WORLD BY TRYING TO BE LIKE IT" ~Unknown
Our grappling style is from the prestigious lineage of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. Founder, Cameron Shayne began his BJJ journey in 2003 under the legendary Rickson Gracie. In 2015, he received his brown belt from Ryan Gracie's direct lineage holder, 4th degree black belt, and world champion Professor Gui Arashiro. Our style is focused on the classic Gracie self-defense approach of the smaller person defeating a larger appointment. We have a perfect blend of men and women training together in a controlled and inspiring space.
Budokon is taught as a "non-classical" style suggesting that our style is built from traditional Japanese Karate-Do, Korean Taekwondo, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, yet without attachment any specific style. Unlike more traditional martial arts, Budokon has no fixed striking style and is focused on self-defense application. As well as being a combat system, it is a philosophy with guiding universal principles, specifically that all mental activity (beliefs, thoughts, consciousness) is subjective and temporary.
